These photos were taken on the 30th of November 2006 from the back of the orchard. As you can see, we were surrounded from the North east and the North west. At 10.00am in the morning the CFS called our office to say that the Fire could threaten our north boundary and could breach it within hours. Apparently the one on the west was traveling at 9km per hour straight for us and they were worried about our position. They advised us to implement our Emergency Fire Plan immediately which we did. An emergency staff meeting was held and all staff were informed of the situation and the Emergency Management Plan was implemented. 

The fire caused a little excitement for a while.  Ash was falling onto the orchard like snow.  The management never felt that the orchard was under any serious threat.
